PARKS AND RECREATION – FAMILY FISHING DAY

WEST DEER PARKS AND RECREATION

TAKE ME FISHING – FAMILY FISHING DAY

The West Deer Township Police Department and West Deer Township Parks and Recreation Board inconjunction with the Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission will be holding their annual Family Fishing Day.  The program is scheduled for Saturday, June 3, 2017 at Deer Lakes Park,  10:00 AM-2:00 PM.

This is a great way for families to spend quality time together and discover how much fun fishing can be. Everything is provided, poles, reels, bait and knowledge.  Children will learn basic fishing skills such as how to bait a hook, cast a line, how to remove the fish once it’s caught, knot tying, etcetera.  No license is required.  The only “catch” is, a child must bring an adult and an adult must bring a child.

Age requirements – 5 years old to 12 years old. A light snack will be served and prizes will be awarded.  There’s a $5.00 fee for the program and pre-registration is required, however, if you do attend the program, the deposit is refunded.  To register call 724-265-1100, extension 302 – Monday – Friday, 7 AM-3 PM.  Registration is limited, we hope to hear from you soon!
