Watershed Association News
Hello DCWA members.
Now we begin a new year for working in our watershed!!!!
We will have our meeting this
month on Thursday, January 25 at the West Deer
Municipal Building on 109 East Union Road, Cheswick, PA 15024. The
meeting starts at 7:00 pm and goes to 8:30.
Here's what we want to
talk about:
1. Outline 2007 Education and Training classes for adults and high school
students
A. Macro Invertabrate (e.g.creatures that live in the stream
water) assessment
B. Water quality testing
C. Erosion and Sediment Control
2. Discuss the impaired stream conditions (along Russelton section of the creek)
and the opportunity for technical grant to develop restoration plan.
3. Identify guidelines for watershed protection. (We want to submit our
recommendations to the West Deer Planning Commission soon.)
Hope this year brings you and your family out to look at the creeks and
participate in our meetings and programs. Your participation
helps us all better understand how we can improve our Watershed quality.
